Why we exist

The foster care system provides vital support, but it was never designed to do everything. For youth still in care and those transitioning out, the gaps in connection, belonging, and long-term support remain significant.

The JWF Foundation exists to fill those gaps, not by replacing what works, but by building on it.

We work alongside foster care organisations, group homes, and caregivers to wrap free, community-based programs around the care they're already delivering. Tutoring, mental health support, mentorship, sports, provided at no cost to organisations or the families that serve the community.

A community framework. Our layer. A fuller picture of care for every young person who needs it.

Founder Story

Dr. Junaid Ahmed and Dr. Wassia Khaja Ahmed are physicians, but their deepest commitment has always been the communities around them.

Together with Navy veteran Billy Pernell, they founded JWFF on a simple belief:

One trusted relationship can change the entire trajectory!
